A method for selection of the optimum sizes of sieve meshes for separation of difficult to separate seed mixtures involves the measurement of dimensional characteristics of the components of initial mixture, the establishment of variation curves of their separation, the determination of separation signs and the selection of shape and sizes of sieve meshes. In this case, from each source material it is taken a sample and the quantitative content of each component (basic seeds and each admixture) and the probability of their sifting through the meshes of sieves of dimensional number are determined.
