UNIT FOR ENHANCING THE STIFFNESS OF LOADING MEMBERS IN TESTING EQUIPMENT

The proposed unit for enhancing the stiffness of loading members used in testing equipment can be used at factory and scientific-research laboratories for testing materials in order to detect latent faults and determine resistance of materials to loads. The unit provides a possibility to increase accuracy of test results due to maintaining uniform deformation of various materials within a specified load range to the extent of the distraction of the material samples. The additional device that is used for enhancing stiffness of the loading members contains two ring-shaped flanges, to which extenders with clamps are fixed. Each extender contains a spring element whose stiffness is varied depending on the length of the element according to the specified power characteristic.
