METHOD FOR DETECTING PERSPECTIVE GAS OR OIL PAYS IN SAND AND CLAY ROCKS BY THE ROCK PSAMMITICITY DATA

The proposed method for detecting perspective gas or oil pays in sand and clay rocks by the rock psammiticity data consists in selecting, when drilling wells, pulp samples for determining the clay swelling factor and analyzing the psammiticity of the rocks. The availability of layers and shims in the well sections that indicate the presence of oil or gas would be determined if the psammiticity of the rocks exceeds 20 %.
