TECHNIQUE FOR SURGICAL TREATMENT OF RECTAL CANCER

The technique for the surgical treatment of rectal cancer consists in mobilizing the rectum with cancer, preparing the viable sigmoid graft, demucosing the anal canal by the perineal access, descending the graft onto perineum, resecting the rectum with cancer and generating coloanal anastomosis. The sigmoid colon at the distal level of graft viability within the distance of 2 cm is sewed twice with the aid of UO-40 device and dissected between the lines of tantalum sutures. The rubber cap is put onto the distal end of the graft. The long gauze band is attached to the cap and its end is descended into the small pelvis. The rubber cap is put onto the proximal segment of the mobilized rectum. The long gauze band is attached to the cap and its end is extended from the operation wound. The demucosation of the anal canal is performed on the perineal side. On the peritoneal side, the traction of the gauze band attached to the stump of the rectum is performed. The rectum with cancer and the dissected mucosa is taken out of the peritoneal cavity. On the side of the perineal wound, the end of the gauze band attached to the sigmoid graft is visualized. Finally, the graft is descended onto perineum with the aid of the traction of the gauze band.
