Plastic treatment of two phase sheet steel for e.g. car body works, involves preheating, heating, carrying out plastic working and cooling

The steel is preheated, then heated and then plastic working is carried out immediately following heating, before the steel is finally cooled. A process for the plastic treatment of high strength two-phase sheet steel without altering sheet properties comprises preheating the sheet steel, heating to a temperature less than 400[deg]C, plastic working of the steel immediately following heating and finally cooling. An independent claim is also included for the process apparatus, comprising a pre-heating device (2), a heating device (4), a plastic working device (5) and a cooling device (6).
