The machine comprises two eccentric axles (21, 22), two cranks (25, 26) and a sliding part (28) for transmitting a half-stroke from each axle to a pin unit (29) via mixer links, the pin unit being provided with setting pins (291, 292) for the sawblade teeth. The cranks are connected to the eccentric axles at one end and to the ends of the mixer links at the other end. Two screw units are connected to the other ends of the mixer links in order to transmit a half-stroke from these units to the two pins. The screw units can be used to alter the distance between the pins can be altered during setting device operation.
