A means is provided for distorting the laser beam in order to interfere with the target image generated in the target-seeking device so that it is harder to extract the target from the image. The laser beam distortion means comprises an SLM (Spatial Light Modulator) (5) and a control device (7) for the SLM. The countermeasure device (2) shines the laser towards the target-seeking device and the laser beam distortion means is used to distort the laser beam intensity pattern.
