The gel-based enhancement of bioceramics mechanical properties consists of addition of controlled Ca:P ratio gels to powders of calcium phosphates raw materials in e.g. orthopaedic work. The particle size is below 0.1 micron and compressive strengths of up to 150 MPa are attained.
