Preparation of a mollusc shell based culture material comprises sterilization, heating and grinding, for vibratory sieving for bivalve culture

The preparation of a mollusc-shell-based culture material consists of sterilization of the shells, heating for 15 minutes at 120 degrees C, and grinding in a 1000 rpm centrifugal mill for 15 minutes. Vibratory sieving to 1-6 mm granulometry is followed by storage and packaging, for use e.g. in ponds for bivalve culture.
