A method of increasing enantioselectivity in a reduction reaction of a prochiral substrate with a reagent of borane-tetrahydrofuran stabilized with borohydride catalyzed by a chiral catalyst, the method comprising the step of: maintaining the concentration of borohydride species in the complex borane tetrahydrofuran under 0, 005 moles per mole of BH3 before reduction fotoquiral substrate with borane-tetrahydrofuran.
