Use of a sintered eutectic alloy of silicon aluminum with a respective weight ratio of Si = 14%, Cu = 3% and Mg = 0.6%, the rest being aluminum and impurities unavoidable, as a chain wheel in a valve control system of an internal combustion engine, the size of the silicon particles on the tooth flanks of the chain wheel acting as sliding surfaces of the structural part being 8-20 ìm and increasing the wear resistance of the sliding surfaces of the chain wheel as a result of a consolidated embedding of the silicon particles by means of a subsequent calibration.
