Procedure for the detection of parasites of the Schistosoma genus in a biological sample, characterized in that a specific region of DNA Schistosoma genus as described in SEQ ID NO: 1 is detected, said method comprising the steps of: a) extracting DNA from Schistosoma sp. from a biological sample; b) PCR amplification of a specific region of the DNA of Schistosoma obtained in step a) with oligonucleotide primers comprising SEQ ID NO 2 and SEQ ID NO: 3 suitable for PCR, and are capable of amplifying SEQ ID NO 1 and homologous sequences common to S. mansoni, S. haematobium, S. japanicum, S. matthei, S. bovis and S. leipperi; c) separation of the PCR products obtained in step b) by electrophoresis, followed by visualization.
