A pressure sensor is combined with a temperaturesensor to monitor a patient's breathing patterns. Thecombination of sensors enables an analysis of the patient'sbreathing patterns to be made without the use of a face maskeven if the patient breathes through the mouth or draws onlyvery weak breaths. The patient's sleep is therefore lesslikely to be disrupted by the presence of the monitoringequipment and a more accurate diagnosis of any sleepdisorder can be made.
