A plastic blow molded container(10) is disclosed as including afreestanding base structure (20) that is constructedwith a plurality of alternating hollow legs(22) and curved ribs (34), and a hub(41) from which the legs and ribsextend radially whith a construction thatprovides good stability against tipping aswell as the capability of withstandinginternal pressure. The hollow leg (22) haslower flat feet (24) with curved outerextremities that extend circumferentially for45 to 65 percent of the extent about acentral axis A of the container toprovide good stability against tipping. Bestresults are achieved when the lower flatfeet have curved outer extremities thatextend circumferentially for 50 to 60percent, and most preferably about 55percent of the extent about the central axis Ato provide the good stability againsttipping.
