Disclosed are epoxy-functional powder coatingcompositions which cure at low baking temperatures, a processfor preparing such compositions, and their use for producingplastics. The powder coating compositions crosslink at lowbaking temperatures to give high-gloss or matt, light-stableand weather-stable coating films. The powder coatingcompositions comprise: A) at least one compound containingon average at least two epoxide groups and having a meltingpoint of from 40 to 130°C and a number-average molar mass ofbelow 5000 g/mol, B) at least one carboxyl-containing polymerhaving a melting point of from 40 to 130°C, an acid number offrom 10 to 200 mg KOH/g, and a hydroxyl number of from 0 to50 mg KOH/g, C) at least one catalyst selected from the groupconsisting of quaternary ammonium hydroxides, quaternaryammonium fluorides, and quaternary ammonium carboxylates, andD) optionally, at least one auxiliary additive, where the twocomponents A) and B) are present in a ratio such that foreach carboxyl group of component B) there are from 0.5 to 1.3epoxide groups of component A) and the catalyst under C)contained in an amount of from 0.001 to 3% by weight of thetotal amount of the powder coating composition.
