PREVENTIVE FOR CEREBRAL STROKE RECURRENCE

It is intended to provide a novel preventive for cerebral stroke recurrenceand a method of conveniently evaluating a preventive for cerebral strokerecurrence. By using a convenient evaluation method with the use ofspontaneously hypertensive rat-stroke prone (SHR-SP) rats having beenestablished by us, it is proved that atorvastatin has effects of preventingcerebral stroke recurrence, relieving nerve symptoms in relapsed cerebralstroke and elevating the survival ratio after the onset of cerebral stroke.That is to say, atorvastatin is useful as a preventive for cerebral strokerecurrence.
