The present invention relates a method of non-CID terminal receiving short message from a message switch in PSTN/ISDN, the method also include non-CID terminal would receive short message with CID terminal compatiblely. The present invention aims at let terminals would receive message from message switch. The method performed as: short message transmitted through downlink, after the message switch detect the answer of the terminal, send a special signal which is different from normal communicate signal after a Tsend cas delay. The Tsend cas delay period is tuneable. After the message terminal receive the special signal, the message switch receive the establish signal through uplink.
