An application program having a user interface is automatically generated to improve the program development efficiency and maintenance. An application development device corresponds to a screen transition diagram where a screen and a process are alternately described. The device includes a specification data read in section for reading in specification data where the screen is related to the display input data item and the display input data item is related to the screen layout and a program generation section for automatically generating an application program by using the specification data.
