DISPLAY AND ANALYSIS OF MULTICONTRAST-WEIGHTED MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGES

A multicontrast-weighted acquisition of three images is performed with an MRI system (Fig.1). Each image is normalized (202) and then mapped (204) to a separate color channel. A composite color image is formed by combining all the color channels (206), and this image is displayed (208) or analyzed (210) to identify different tissue types therein.
