The spacer (1) for setting the spacing between a first (2) and a second (3) component has first and second elements (4,5) connected respectively to the two components. A locking arrangement to set the spacing from a number of discretely adjustable spacings has at least one locking component (13) and at least one mating component (18) interacting with it. The locking component and mating component are connected in one piece respectively to one of the spacer elements. The first spacer element is constructed in sleeve form so that the second element can slide inside it to set the spacing.
