The electric machine (10) has an axial and a radial dimension and a circumference on which the magnetic ring (18) cooperates with a spring element (30). The spring surrounds a cut in the circumference of the component which extends at least in the axial direction. The cross section of this cut is at least partially perpendicular to the radial direction of the component. A locating section (32) is cut into the component through the cut in the circumference and the magnetic ring lies in this section at least partially according to its heat expansion. Independent claims also cover apparatus for manufacturing such a component.
