A typical feature of high-speed data transmission in a cellular radio environment is that it is strongly unidirectional. In accordance with the present invention, a connection can be adapted to this fact so that the connection is asymmetric, providing a large transmitting capacity in the direction in which the most of the data stream is passing, whereas in the opposite direction, the transmitting capacity is smaller. The transmission and reception time-slots are arranged asymmetrically so that transmission and reception do not take place simultaneously.
