The system includes taking account of non-linear properties of elements of the sound system, to provide accurate reproduction of loud notes. The waveguide or the resonator is broken down (A) into sections (Sj) in the direction of propagation, the propagation being linear (B) between the successive sections (Sj, Sj+1). The field of the acoustic wave is decomposed (C) into a direct wave and an inverse wave. At each sampling of the input acoustic wave at a section (Sj), a non-linear propagation speed is associated with the sample. A time relationship (E) is applied to each sample on the propagation path of each section. At the end of the section, a sampling sequence is calculated taking account of the period of sampling at the input of the resonator.
