Depending on a variation in scale of the number of data, one of a plurality of previously prepared data display formats having different units of correlation data is selected automatically, and one of a plurality of previously prepared data display methods of different degrees of summarization of information concerning individual cells (correlation data and information concerning each event) is selected automatically. The correlation data and the information concerning individual cells are then displayed. In the method for visualizing data on the correlation between two events in a matrix format, the work for alternately repeating observation of the entire correlation data and detail observation of a small number of data can be lessened.
