The steel strip shears has a fixed lower cutter (1) and a movable upper blade (3). The shears has a conveyor discharge belt (4a-c) formed from parallel belts. An opposing support (5) is positioned under each conveyor belt section and under the movable upper blade section. The supports align the conveyor and the steel strip with respect to the cutter. The opposing supports can be sectional.
