Method and apparatus for high precision calibration of polarimeters

Method for relative and absolute calibration of a complete polarimeter using a limited number of independent and inaccurate, known one-way polarizers, whereby only the polarization degree of all the one-way polarizers must be the same, while the power must be constant or known. Additionally the reference plane of the polarization measurement can be transformed to any chosen position, even outside the polarimeter. An Independent claim is included for a corresponding device.
