METHOD OF MOUNTING A METAL SHEET RING ASSEMBLED AND WELDED IN A CARRIER HOOP, TO CONFORM THE ANNULAR COOLING TUBE OF A PISTON OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE A METAL SHEET RING ASSEMBLED WITH A CARRIER HOOP
METHOD OF MOUNTING A METAL SHEET RING ASSEMBLED AND WELDED IN A CARRIER HOOP, TO CONFORM THE ANNULAR COOLING TUBE OF A PISTON OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE A METAL SHEET RING ASSEMBLED WITH A CARRIER HOOP
The mounting consists of a metal sheet ring, which cross section is substantially like a "U", wherein the free ends of the "U" branches rest and couple to the annular seats being defined in the inside face of the carrier hoop, matching their curbs of internal edge; wherein said support and coupling are sealed by respective annular welding beads extending along the mentioned annular seats and rest on the body of the carrier hoop, being conformed an inside annular cooling tube which inside surface is constituted by a metal sheet ring and the inside diametrical surface of the carrier hoop extending between said two annular seats. The method is as follows: take a flat metal sheet of a desired thickness, and cut it creating a circular disk; produce, by stamping on said disk, a circumferential wall having a folded edge of diverging fin; cut and remove the circular bottom, by stamping the piece being constituted in the previous step; take the ring constituted in the previous step and form a second folded edge of diverging fin by stamping the circular edge opposite to the one already existing in the first diverging fin. The metal sheet ring being obtained consists of a sole body of metal sheet which cross section is a "C" profile with diverging fins responding to different pre-established designs.
