The invention concerns the determination of a graphic model structure in the form of data for permanent variables. The invention is characterized in that a graphic model is broken down into partial graphs for data description. Nuclear density evaluating devices enable the partial graph densities to be determined. Through the use of said partial graph densities and a counter-validation scheme method, an evaluation function is determined which evaluates, by means of the model, the addition of an edge to the model relative to the quality of description of the a structure comprised in the data. The use of an evaluation function enables the edges to be integrated to the model and hence the graphic structure of the model to be determined.
