The laser unit (2), for the generation of laser beams with varying wavelengths, comprises a mirror unit (80), a support unit (30) and an exit window (50) with an opening (60). The support unit (30) comprises a longitudinal axis (40), running essentially parallel to the generated laser beams and the mirror unit (80) and the exit window (50) are arranged at opposing ends of the housing piece (30) and essentially transverse to the longitudinal axis (40). The support unit (30) also comprises a laser diode unit (34) and a pressure generating element (32), by means of which a pressure may be exerted on the laser diode unit (34). It is thus advantageously possible to select the wavelength over a large range.
