The invention relates to a method for measuring a physical and or chemical property of a biological particle (5), especially in a cell, and to a microsystem for carrying out said method. The inventive microsystem comprises an electrode (1a) which is at least partially disposed in a receiving compartment for receiving an ambient fluid, and connecting means (7a) configured on the electrode (1a) for detecting a measuring variable for an electrical property of the electrode (1a). According to the inventive method, the ambient fluid (4) including the biological particle (5) is introduced into the receiving compartment so that a surface section of the electrode (1a) is brought into contact with the ambient fluid (4). The biological particle (5) is arranged so as to be next to the surface section so that the biological particle (5) interacts with a material of the surface section and an outer surface shape of the surface section changes as a result of the interaction between the biological particle (5) and the material. A change of the measuring variable for the electrical property of the electrode (1a) is measured, said change being brought about by the change of the outer surface shape of the surface section. The inventive method and microsystem allow for an individual and sensitive analysis of the properties of biological particles.
