AGENT AND METHOD FOR EXAMINING INFECTION WITH ADULT TAENIASIS SOLIUM AND TAENIARHYNCHUS SAGINATUS

[PROBLEMS] To provide a method for examining the infection with adult Taeniarhynchus saginatus and Taeniasis solium being parasitic in humans. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] It is found out that a hydrophobic ligand binding protein (HLBP) originating in an adult separated from a tapeworm has an antigenicity. An agent for examining the infection with adult Taeniarhynchus saginatus and Taeniasis solium which comprises, as the main component, a peptide containing an amino acid sequence having at least the amino acids at the 22- to 65-positions in the amino acid sequence of the 20- to 85-positions ofan amino acid sequence represented by any of SEQ ID NOS:1 to 4 or the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:5. The infection with adult Taeniarhynchus saginatus and Taeniasis solium can be examined by reacting the serum of a subject (human) with this examination agent.
