The present invention relates to the use of stanozolol for the preparation of medicaments with an anti-inflammatory and anti-degenerative action which are indicated in human and veterinary medicine for the treatment of disorders with inflammatory and/or degenerative etiological components, including arthritis, osteoarthritis, canine tracheal collapse and neurodegenerative disorders in humans or animals.
