Treatment of a hydrocarbon charge in which at least 95% comprises compounds of boiling points of at least 340[deg]C by stages of deasphalting, cracking, fractionation and further cracking of a residue, to produce petrols, kerosenes and gasoils. The process comprises stages of (1) (a) contact of the charge with a solvent to obtain a deasphalted effluent having an asphaltene content(insolubles in n-heptane) less than 3000 ppm wt.; (2) (b) cracking of the deasphalted effluent in the presence of hydrogen and a hydrocracking catalyst in a fluidized bed reactor, converting at least 50% wt. of the effluent of the fraction boiling above 500[deg]C into compounds of boiling points below 500[deg]C; (3) (c) fractionation of the effluent from (b) and recovery of petrols, kerosene, gasoils and a primary residue; (4) and(d) catalytic cracking of the residue to obtain an effluent comprising petrols, kerosene, gasoils and a second residue.
