The invention provides a method and the device for taking the photograph in mobile telephone. When running the programs for taking the photograph functions, CPU only needs send the previewing or photographing instructions to the GSP(General Serial Port) interface mounted on the base band, the other related programs about the previewing or photographing can be run automatically, which include GSP interface sending the controlling commands to the camera, receiving the image data sent by the camera, and converting the image data into the corresponding format, DMA(Direct Memory Access) controller informing the CPU by means of the interrupting , the previewing image data are displayed on the display by CPU or displayed on the display via the DMA controller ,the image buffer and the CPU's soft decoding. The invention makes the CPU only occupy the 30 percent time when running the programs of the photographing function, and decreases the system payload and the product cost of the mobile telephone.
