The method involves a presence computer (PR) determining activity start data relating to a communications user on reception of a data request message (DAN) from the user's communications terminal (KEG) in an intermediate node (ZK) between the communications terminal and the data memory (DS), reading authorization data associated with the activity start data relating to activity start-dependent authorization of the user for accessing the requested data and enabling or inhibiting access according to the authorization data read out.
