The invention relates to a method for determining acoustic features of acoustic signals which indicate the presence or absence of a property of the acoustic signal or of the sound generator, and use of the result of this determination of features for the analysis of unknown acoustic signals for the presence or absence of a defined relevant property, or for modifying sound generation in view of optimizing a defined relevant property.
