6-Alkyl-2,4-dihalophenyl-substituted tetramic acid derivatives (I) are new. 6-Alkyl-2,4-dihalophenyl-substituted tetramic acid derivatives of formula (I) are new. X, Y = halo; Z = ethyl or n-propyl; G = H; A = H, alkyl, cycloalkyl or alkoxyalkyl; B' = H, alkyl or alkoxyalkyl, or C(A)(B') = saturated or unsaturated 3-8C ring (optionally substituted (os) by alkyl or haloalkyl); D = H, or alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, alkoxyalkyl, alkylthioalkyl or cycloalkyl (all os), or A + D = a group completing an os, saturated or unsaturated ring (optionally containing heteroatom(s)), or G = COR1, C(L)-MR2, SO2R3, P(L)R4R5, E or C(L)-NR6R7; A = H, alkyl, alkenyl, alkoxyalkyl or alkylthioalkyl (all os by halo), or os cycloalkyl; B' = H, alkyl or alkoxyalkyl, or C(A)(B') = saturated or unsaturated ring (os and optionally containing heteroatom(s)); D = H, or alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, alkoxyalkyl, alkylthioalkyl or cycloalkyl (all os), or A + D = a group completing an os, saturated or unsaturated ring (optionally containing heteroatom(s)); E = an equivalent of a metal ion or ammonium; L, M = O or S; R1 = alkyl, alkenyl, alkoxyalkyl, alkylthioalkyl or polyalkoxyalkyl (all os by halo), cycloalkyl or heterocyclyl (both os by halo, alkyl or alkoxy), or phenyl or heterocyclyl (both os); R2 = alkyl, alkenyl, alkoxyalkyl or polyalkoxyalkyl (all or by halo), or cycloalkyl, phenyl or benzyl (all os); R3-R5 = alkyl, alkoxy, mono- or di-alkylamino, alkylthio, alkenylthio or cycloalkylthio (all os by halo); or phenyl, benzyl, phenoxy or phenylthio (all os), and R6, R7 = H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, alkoxy or alkoxyalkyl (all os by halo), or phenyl or benzyl (both os), or NR6R7 = os ring (optionally containing O or S).
