PURPOSE: A method for retrieving a path in a mobile ad hoc network is provided to set a service path in consideration of energy efficiency of a terminal in a mobile ad hoc network, thereby continuing the path for supplying service information without disconnection. CONSTITUTION: A mobile host checks whether a service path retrieval request event is generated(301). If so, the mobile host checks whether service path information exists at a service path table(303). If not, the mobile host calculates power information(305), and generates an SQPE(Service Query Power Extension) message to broadcast the SQPE message(306). The mobile host maintains a standby state(307), and checks whether an SQPE message is received from other mobile host(308). If not, the mobile host checks whether an SRPE(Service Reply Power Extension) message is received by responding to the transmitted SQPE message(315). If so, the mobile host stores the service path information at the service path table(316).
