HARDWOOD KEY OF CORNER PANEL FOR LNG CONTAINER TO PREVENT CRACK OF PLYWOOD

PURPOSE: A hardwood key of a corner panel for an LNG container is provided to improve the safety of the LNG container by attaching a glass fiber reinforced polyurethane foam to the rear of a plywood. CONSTITUTION: A hardwood key of a corner panel is composed of a plywood(10), and a glass fiber reinforced polyurethane foam(12). A plurality of veneers(10a) made of birch are joined to form the plywood. The glass fiber reinforced polyurethane foam is joined to the rear of the plywood, and is disposed between the plywood and the corner panel. A thermosetting phenolic bonding agent(10b) is applied to one surface of the veneer to join the veneers. The plywood and the glass fiber reinforced polyurethane foam is 15 to 35mm and 60 to 85mm in thickness, respectively.
