PURPOSE: An apparatus is provided to remove particulate and gaseous pollutants from air by photocatalytic reaction using titanium dioxide, and a purification method of polluted air using the apparatus is provided. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a first air purification part (10) including a cathode plate (11) partially being coated with titanium dioxide (14) and an anode plate (12) partially being coated with titanium dioxide; a second air purification part (20) including a dust filter (21) being partially coated with titanium dioxide (22); a third purification part (30) including a plural cathode plate (32,34,36) and a plural anode plates (31,33,35) being arranged to be crossed each other and a plural bended parts (321,322,323,341,343,361,362,363) for dust collection being formed at each anode plate, wherein the cathode plate and the anode plate are partially coated with titanium dioxide (37); and a high voltage generation part being electrically connected to the first air purification part and the third air purification part respectively, wherein the high voltage generation part supplies high electric current so that the first and the third air purification part emit ultraviolet rays of 300 to 400 nm.
