PURPOSE: Provided are an adhesive composition which is improved in smear fastness, heat resistance, tensile strength and peel strength and does not use an organic solvent and its preparation method. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of setting a nitrogen injection pipe, a reflux condenser, a thermometer and a stirring bar to the each entrance of a four-necked reactor; adding 120 g of distilled water and additives (barium sulfate, sodium bicarbonate and poly(vinyl alcohol)) to the reactor, setting the reaction temperature to 70 deg.C, and injecting a nitrogen gas; adding 1.2 g of an emulsifier (SLS), 120 g of a water-soluble acryl-based composition, 30 g of distilled water and liquid ammonia for adjusting pH to be 7-8 and stirring the mixture to prepare a pre-emulsion; injecting 1.2 g of an initiator (KSP) dissolved in 30 g of distilled water for 5 hours by using a pump; and maturing it for 3 hours. The water-soluble acryl-based composition comprises 45-51 wt% of n-butyl acrylate; 22-27 wt% of acrylonitrile; 22-27 wt% of n-butyl methacrylate; 0.4-1.0 wt% of acrylic acid; 1.0-1.6 wt% of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate; 0.2-0.5 wt% of barium sulfate; 0.8-1.2 wt% of sodium bicarbonate; and 1.0-2.0 wt% of poly(vinyl alcohol).
