PURPOSE: To provide a plated material capable of reducing insertion and withdrawing force when it is used in a connector, and a method of manufacturing the plated material, and provide a terminal member for the connector, and a connector. CONSTITUTION: The plated material comprises a metal substrate(3); a metal plating layer(6) formed on the surface of the substrate; and a soft region(6A) spread in a network shape, and a rigid region(6B) surrounded by a network of the soft region, wherein the soft region exists in the metal plating layer together with the rigid region, the soft region has a Vickers hardness of 20 to 250, the rigid region has a Vickers hardness of 60 to 700 which is at least 30 higher than that of the soft region, and an average size of the network of the soft region is 5 to 500 μm.
