摘要

PURPOSE: A method for driving a plasma display panel by matrix triggering of sustain discharge is provided to optimize luminance efficiency of equal plane discharge by triggering the equal plane discharge using matrix discharge. CONSTITUTION: The method drives a plasma display panel including a sustain electrode array and at least one trigger electrode array and a discharge area crossed by a pair of sustain electrodes and at least one trigger electrode. A constant sustain voltage pulse(Vs) is applied between electrodes provided in the discharge area. A trigger voltage pulse(Vm) is applied between the trigger electrode and one of the electrodes and/or another electrode provided in the discharge area. The method includes a discharge area sustain step including the above steps in itself. The sustain voltage(Vs) is above a value(Vs-min), and the voltage(Vm) is designed to trigger plasma discharge between electrodes.
