METHOD FOR PROVIDING A MULTIMEDIA MESSAGING SERVICE IN A MOBILE COMMUNICATION NETWORK, PARTICULARLY FOR ENHANCING THE TRANSMISSION EFFICIENCY OF A MULTIMEDIA MESSAGE BY USING A MULTIMEDIA MESSAGE RECEIPT NOTIFICATION MESSAGE

PURPOSE: A method for providing a multimedia messaging service in a mobile communication network is provided to allow a receiving side mobile terminal to effectively download and reproduce an MMS(Multimedia Messaging Service) message by recognizing sufficient information on the MMS message. CONSTITUTION: An advertiser system server creates an MMS message(S201), and transmits it to an MMSC(Multimedia Messaging Service Center) and requests pushing of it to an MST(Mobile Station Termination)(S202). The MMSC checks sender information and receiver information, creates an MMS receipt notification message, and transmits it to an SMSC(Short Message Service Center)(S203). The SMSC transmits the MMS receipt notification message to the MST(S204). The MMSC converts the message format according to a type of the MST(S205). The MST confirms that the corresponding MMS message is transmitted according to the push method, attempts connection to the MMSC(S206), and downloads the message(S207). When the downloading is failed(S208), the MST switches the download-failed push message to a pull message(S209). The MST allows its receiver to check the notification message(S210).
