PURPOSE: A circuit for driving a cold cathode fluorescent lamp in a floating type is provided to prevent problems due to a leakage current by connecting a stabilizing capacitor between two ends of the cold cathode fluorescent lamp. CONSTITUTION: A circuit for driving a cold cathode fluorescent lamp in a floating type includes a driver for generating a driving voltage in a way to be switched according to a control signal and for driving at least one cold cathode fluorescent lamp(530,630), a detector(800), and a controller(200). The detector is connected to one end of the driver in series and detects an alternating output current from the driver. The controller compares the detected alternating current with a reference output current, and generates the control signal based on the comparison result. The driver includes a first capacitor(510,610) for stabilizing a high operational voltage output from the alternative current generator and a second capacitor(550,650). The second capacitor floats the operational voltage while maintaining the operational voltage supplied to both ends of the cold cathode fluorescent lamp.
