SYSTEM AND PROGRAM FOR MANAGING POWER ON PARALLEL PROCESSING SYSTEM BY SINGLE PROCESSOR OS ON MULTIPROCESSOR

PURPOSE: A system and a program for managing power on a parallel processing system by a single processor OS(Operating System) on a multiprocessor are provided to simply control power management of a processor on the parallel processing system operated the single processor OS and an existing application without modification. CONSTITUTION: The power management system includes a main power manager(2000m) installed to a parallel processing system processor(Pm) and respective sub-power managers(2000s) installed to each processor(Pn). A power management device(3000A) turns on/off the power of each processor. An interrupt device(3000B) controls interrupts from the single processor OSs(300PO-300Pn). The power management device and the interrupt device is controlled by a driver equipped to the single processor OS.
