PURPOSE: A washing method of a washing machine is provided to reduce washing hours by braking in opposition to residual energy of a motor in changing the direction of rotation of the pulsator and the inner tub, and to cut down the cost by performing centrifugal permeation washing with the induction motor. CONSTITUTION: A laundry amount is detected, and washing water is supplied to the minimum water level by setting the water level according to the laundry amount(S1,S2). The detergent is dissolved and the laundry is soaked by rotating and reversing the motor for the predetermined time and agitating the pulsator after stopping supplying water(S3). Centrifugal permeation washing is performed for the predetermined time by rotating the pulsator and the inner tub unidirectionally in turning on the motor(S4). After the predetermined time, the motor is turned on and off to reverse, and stopped completely(S5,S6). The motor is turned on to reverse the pulsator and the inner tub after stopping the motor, and centrifugal permeation washing is performed for the predetermined time by turning on the motor(S7).
