PURPOSE: A mobile terminal for expressing an old person's emotion as an avatar and a service method using the same are provided to display a caller's emotional state through an avatar by downloading a basic avatar, and then transmitting a partial avatar including an eye image and a mouth image capable of reflecting the caller's emotional state to replace the eye and mouth of the basic avatar with the images. CONSTITUTION: A mobile terminal(10) for expressing an old person's emotion as an avatar comprises an emotion input part(102), an encoder(110), a radio transmitting part(112), and an antenna(114). The mobile terminal(10) is connected with a BS(Base Station)(14), and the BS(14) is connected with an ISP(Internet Service Provider) server through the Internet(16). The emotion input part(102) is provided with a sensor part(104), a digitizer(106), and an emotion evaluation part(108). The sensor part(104) inputs a biorhythm signal as objective emotion data. The digitizer(106) inputs a user's subjective emotion information as numeric data. The emotion evaluation part(108) evaluates the objective emotion data, inputted through the sensor part(104), and the subjective emotion data, inputted through the digitizer(106), obtains an emotion value, and outputs emotion data.
