PURPOSE: A method for transmitting packets in a data link layer is provided to efficiently transmit packets, received from an upper layer, according to the status of a network. CONSTITUTION: In case that a data link layer receives a packet from a network layer, a packet transmission method confirms whether the status of a network is idle(S61). In case that the status of the network is idle, the packet transmission method confirms whether the status of the network is idle during the minimum allowable packet interval(S62). In case that the status of the network is idle during the minimum allowable packet interval, the packet transmission method selects a transmission delay time within the range of a contention window according to the service priority of the received packet(S63). Then the packet transmission method confirms whether the status of the network is idle during the selected transmission delay time(S64). If the status of the network is idle during the selected transmission delay time, the packet transmission method transmits the received packet from the data link layer to a physical layer(S65).
