PURPOSE: A synchronous memory device provided with an output circuit capable of expanding valid output data window and a method for expanding valid output data window are provided to expand the valid output data window during the test mode. CONSTITUTION: A synchronous memory device provided with an output circuit capable of expanding valid output data window includes a normal mode and a test mode. The normal mode outputs the data in response to the operational clock frequency. And, the test mode outputs the data in response to the frequency corresponding to the 1/N of the operational clock frequency, N being a natural number and larger than two.
